Shaunas Remedy by Sugars Plain Remedy1998 Black Mare

By SUGARS PLAIN REMEDY by Just Plain Colonel out of the dam, DOCS DISCO LADY by Hotrodder Disco

We’ve been wanting to add a “cow-bred” mare to our lineup for a while…but we’re fussy. They gotta look a certain way, move a certain way, etc etc… Well, our friend Laurie Ferguson knew we always liked her black mare; Pudge. So when she decided to part with her, she gave us a call.

This mare fits our criteria. She’s got a face you’ll never forget and a huge hip. She’s real balanced and strong made.Pudge’s sire: Sugars Plain Remedy was a money earner in cutting and a NRCHA money earner owned & trained by Doug Reinhardt, bred & raised by the famous Ward Ranch in California.

Just Plain Colonel - reference sire. Click to enlargeA full brother; Plain Sugar Remedy won the 1992 NCHA snaffle bit futurity Open Reserve championship. These horses are sired by Just Plain Colonel ~ it is uncanny how much Pudge resembles her paternal grandsire(shown below)  Just Plain Colonel was the sire of 2 NCHA Snaffle Bit Open Futurity Reserve Champions, 2 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Non Pro Champions, 3 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity non Pro reserve Champions, earners of over  $1.5 million, and was a leading sire on reined cowhorse, cutting and reining sires list from 1995-2007).

Sugars Plain Remedy’s dam; Sugar Remedy was the1981 NRCHA Open Snaffle Bit Champion and produced earners of over $73K in the NCHA and over $59K in the NRCHA including NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Reserve Champion Peppy Remedy in 1988 and, as mentioned earlier, Plain Sugar Remedy in 1992. On the dam’s side:  After much success with the Docs Hotrodder horses (Including Hotrodder Coke; a full sister to Hotrodder Disco), Bill & Elaine Speight brought the yearling  Hotrodder Disco to Canada where he, at one time, was the all-time leading money earning sire at the Canadian Supreme with offspring earnings of over $150,000. Speights crossed Hotrodder Disco on the 100% foundation QH mare Quedow’s Cricket resulting in Docs Disco Lady who later sold to Doug Reinhardt where she was crossed with Sugars Plain Remedy to get Shaunas Remedy a.k.a. “Pudge”
